Queensland’s G20 named Project of the Year
The Australian Institute of Project Management has named G20 Project Group, led by the Queensland Police Service, its 2015 Project of the Year.
The Queensland Police Service successfully delivered one of the largest and most complex security operations projects in Australia’s history—Operation Southern Cross—which spanned the 2014 G20 Leaders Summit in Brisbane and the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting in Cairns.
Other top achievers at The AIPM Project Management Achievement Awards included Aspen Medical’s Ebola Response in West Africa and disaster recovery projects such as Shire of Campaspe’s Flood Recovery and the Northern Territory Department of Infrastructure’s Cyclone Recovery Works at Ramingining and Milingimbi.
The awards were announced at a gala dinner during the AIPM’s National Conference, this year held in Hobart, Tasmania.
