RedR Australia will be hosting two information sessions in Sydney and Melbourne about aid projects in need of specialised talent.

A deployment agency for short-term paid international humanitarian aid work, RedR works with the United Nations and a number of non-government organisations to match projects with available, relevant skills. Its Standby Register of personnel enables the agency to mobilise professionals in times of disaster and for emergency relief work.

Topics to be covered:

  • Roles available through RedR Australia including civil/construction engineers, information management officers, logisticians, water and sanitation specialists, information and communications technology professionals, and geographic information system officers;
  • Skills and experience required of Standby Register personnel;
  • The Standby Register application process and support during and after deployment;
  • Field preparedness training;
  • Terms and conditions of deployment including living allowance and salary for deployees, insurance, medical check-ups, travel costs and capacity development training; and
  • Field experience of recently returned RedR Australia deployees.

The sessions are designed to be interactive to give you the opportunity to discuss queries with RedR Australia staff and Standby Register personnel.
