According to Asia-Pacific ICT industry analyst firm Longhaus, SAS is the leading business analytics company for software and services and the largest independent vendor in the business intelligence market in Australia and New Zealand.

Longhaus presented its Peak Vendor Award to SAS, to signify its position as the top business intelligence vendor in the two countries. “As well as solution and company strength, SAS scored the highest geographic commitment to Australia of any of the assessed companies,” remarked Peter Carr, managing director at Longhaus.

He added that its long-term commitment was a factor in its success. “SAS’ entry into the intelligence business vastly pre-dates the majority of providers in the market today.”

Longhaus’ report, Australia’s Business Intelligence & Analytics Market 2011, covered its public vendor evaluation focusing on key providers in the business intelligence and analytics technology market, naming SAS the business intelligence leader among businesses that included SAP, IBM, Microsoft and Oracle.

“Business analytics and business intelligence have never played a more important role in helping leaders make fact-based decisions, and we’re proud to be recognised for our leading position in this critical area,” said Gordon Clubb, managing director of SAS Australia and New Zealand.

The award came as SAS also won PC Market’s Biz IT Excellence Awards for IT solutions. PC Market, a Hong Kong-based publication, honoured the SAS Data Quality Solution for the second year running.
