Construction contracting firm John Holland has named engineering services firm KBR as the provider of engineering design and construction support services on New South Wales’ South West Rail Link (SWRL) project.

KBR will provide permanent way design, overhead wiring design and communications systems design for the Glenfield to Leppington portion of the SWRL project, currently the largest metropolitan rail project under construction in NSW.

It will also provide construction phase services support to the project delivery team once construction begins in 2012.

“KBR’s involvement in the South West Rail Link project builds upon our extensive expertise in rail systems, and we are pleased to add to our growing portfolio of largescale rail infrastructure projects,” said Colin Elliott, president of KBR Infrastructure and Minerals.
